As far back as we can go in history, we see that humanity has an intrinsic desire for
Peace and Justice. These are major themes of the Bible as well as of the Greek
philosophers such as Plato. Plato relegated these ideas to the realm of Forms, that is,
the realm where things exist in their pure and perfect form where they only exist as
shadows in the mundane world. We all have a concept of Peace and Justice, but we are
no closer to attaining either than were the ancients. We need to accept that as a fallen
race we are not capable of achieving these outside of the coming Kingdom of God.
Isa 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will
rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the
throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and
righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will
accomplish this.
We will never accomplish Justice and Peace until Jesus rules the world as its rightful
King.
